New Director at APC

(14.04.09) Margareth Øverland (46) has been appointed the new director of the Aquaculture Protein Center (APC).

APC is one of 13 Centres of Excellence designated by the Norwegian Research Council and is owned by the Norwegian University of Life Sciences (UMB), Norwegian School of Veterinary Science (NVH), and Nofima.

Margareth Øverland took over the director's position from Trond Storebakken January 1 this year. Storebakken will continue as professor and senior researcher with the Centre. The Centre consists of three sections: Feed Ingredients and Processing (FIP), located at UMB; Gut and Health (GH), located at NVH; and Protein and Amino Acid Metabolism (PAM), located at Nofima's facility, Sunndalsøra, Norway.

Øverland has been the leader of the FIP section since January 1, 2007. In addition to being director, she will continue as FIP's leader.

About Øverland:

Øverland has a doctoral degree from UMB. She earned her M.S. in animal science and nutrition, as well as her B.S, from Montana State University, USA. During her doctoral program she studied two years at University of Minnesota, USA.
