New PhD Student from Germany

(14.04.09) Christian Sahlmann has recently joined APC's Gut and Health section to study the digestive and immunological processes of Atlantic salmon.

Sahlmanns doctoral research will focus on the effects of various dietary ingredients and components, in particular molecular responses in the intestine. Christian is supervised by Åshild Krogdahl, working together with co-supervisors Jim Thorsen, Michael Penn and Anne Marie Bakke-McKellep.

Christian earned his MSc in Marine Biology at the University of Bremen, Germany (November 2008). His thesis was Seasonal and regional aspects of the nutritional ecology and physiology of the brown shrimp Crangon crangon (Decapoda: Caridea).
